Technical parameters of PCTFE
Polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE), abbreviated as PCTFE, is a high molecular weight compound formed by the polymerization of chlorotrifluoroethylene. Low molecular weight substances are liquids or wax like substances. High molecular weight refers to white solids or dispersions. Solid density of 2.1~2.2. Melting point: 208-210 ℃. Heat resistant, acid resistant, alkali resistant, and organic solvent resistant (excluding halides), but not resistant to molten caustic soda and elemental fluorine. Dissolve in aromatic hydrocarbons and carbon tetrachloride. The chemical resistance performance is second only to polytetrafluoroethylene. Can be used as engineering plastics. The tensile strength is 3.096~4.135 megapascals (316~422 kgf/cm2). Generally applied to chemical equipment, insulated cables, radio equipment, capacitors, and heat-resistant or low-temperature accessories with high performance requirements. Dispersible liquids are used to produce corrosion-resistant coatings and films.
The synthesis methods of polytetrafluoroethylene include bulk polymerization, solution polymerization, and dispersion polymerization, which are prepared by free radical polymerization using peroxides as initiators.
Polytrifluorochloroethylene has excellent chemical stability, insulation, and weather resistance, and can be used for a long time at -196~125 ℃. Its mechanical strength and hardness are superior to polytetrafluoroethylene, and when made into thin films, it has good transparency and lower air permeability.
Polytrifluorochloroethylene is suitable for applications in contact with highly corrosive media, sealing and gasket materials for high-pressure systems, transparent materials for observation windows, and electrical insulation materials. Therefore, it has special significance in the chemical and atomic energy industries, but its price is more expensive than polytetrafluoroethylene. Low molecular weight polytetrafluoroethylene has high density, excellent viscosity temperature characteristics, and chemical corrosion resistance. It can be used as a sealing fluid, lubricating grease, and balancing fluid for navigation gyroscopes in highly corrosive media.
PCTFE has excellent rigidity, low temperature resistance, and cold flow resistance, making it an ideal sealing material under low temperature and high pressure conditions. It has special applications in high-tech fields.
Application:
1. Contact with highly corrosive media, sealing and gasket materials for high-pressure systems, transparent materials for observation windows, etc.
2. Electrical insulation materials, etc.
3. Low molecular weight PCTFE is used as a sealing fluid, lubricating grease, and balancing fluid for navigation gyroscopes in highly corrosive media.
