DESCRIPTION / Introduction

1、 Introduction to Spring Activated Sealing Ring

Spring actuated PTFE seal is a high-performance seal with a U-shaped PTFE inner assembly and a special spring. By applying appropriate spring force and system fluid pressure, the sealing working lip is pushed out and gently pressed against the sealed surface to produce an excellent sealing effect. Its sealing working lip has the best short and thick characteristics, thereby reducing friction and extending lifespan.

Polytetrafluoroethylene is a sealing material with excellent chemical resistance and heat resistance, which can be applied to the vast majority of chemical fluids, solvents, hydraulic oils, and lubricating oils. Its compression deformation is very small, so it can exert sealing performance for a long time.

The temperature range can be from refrigerant to 300 ℃, the pressure can range from vacuum to ultra-high pressure of 700kg/cm2 (about 70MPa), and the moving speed can reach up to 20m/s. Springs can be selected from stainless steel, corrosion-resistant alloys, etc. according to different usage environments, so they can be applied to various high-temperature corrosive fluid situations.

Wing Nian can produce spring coils with an outer diameter of 1.5mm to 1.5m, and existing customers are currently using 1.5mm spring coils.

4、 Style of spring actuated sealing ring

Spring actuated sealing rings can be designed with V-shaped or H-shaped spring forms and sealing lips according to various application scenarios such as dynamic, static, internal and external pressures, thus exhibiting different sealing forces and compressible deformations.

The magnitude of spring force will affect the sealing performance, friction, and wear behavior of the spring actuated sealing ring; The compressibility of the spring determines the compensation ability of the spring actuated sealing ring for seal lip wear and seal groove size tolerance variation.
